The film Sustainable Careers in Science: Exploring Huon Valley Businesses was launched at the Huon Valley Hub to a large audience of parents, students, councillors and community members by Dr Rosalie Woodruff MP. The 30 minute film by film-maker Robert Alcock documents the journey of the students in the Huon Energy Futures Team as they visited Huon Valley businesses on the Science Week STEM Tour in August 2022. These included the Glen Huon Dairy, Valleyfield Regenerative Agriculture, Biochar and Dove Tail Timbers and Mitchel’s Plastics. The film captures the student’s reactions and reflections on careers and STEM as they interact with the local businesses. The Film and Tour were funded by Inspiring Australia for National Science Week. The project was convened by Circular Economy Huon in partnership with the Huonville High school and the Huon Valley Council.
